Saving: do collected words stay collected?
A release-period player reply says collected words stay collected after returning to a level. The corresponding orb becomes smaller. Check that visual change instead of assuming you must collect every word again.
Check progress when returning
- Return to a level with a word you remember collecting.
- Compare its orb: the reported collected state is a smaller orb.
- If it does not match your previous progress, preserve the save before trying another recovery step.
Steam lists Cloud support, but that alone does not establish a manual-save command or demo-to-full-game transfer. The old demo request for saving is not proof of the full release’s save behaviour.
Back up the Windows save
Close the game, open %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/ORIGAME DIGITAL/Penguin Colony in File Explorer, and copy the folder to a separate location. This is the save directory supplied by the publisher. Keep the original intact; copying it is a precaution, not a fix for lost progress.
