Controls and fixes for known release issues
Match the symptom before changing settings. Use Recall for a physically trapped penguin, set resolution manually for the display mismatch, and treat v1.5 cutscene or prompt workarounds as specific player reports.
Trapped in terrain
Open the pause menu, find Recall in the control mapping, then use that input to inhabit another penguin. The publisher recommended this in the demo feedback thread. Confirm that the new penguin moves before continuing. It addresses a stuck body, not a frozen application or a crash.
Skip the opening credits
The publisher identifies Space on a keyboard or the bottom A button on a controller as the intro-credit skip input. A player says holding the input fills a small circle at the bottom-left after watching the opening once. If a tap does nothing, hold the mapped input and look for that progress circle. This skips the credits, not a fix for the crash that made you restart.
Resolution, prompts and camera
- Wrong resolution: the publisher says the game does not automatically match the monitor. Set your monitor’s resolution in the game’s visual settings, apply it and check the result.
- Xbox prompts missing at the red light: a v1.5 player used the right bumper for Gaze; Xbox prompts then appeared. Reconnecting the cable had not helped that player.
- Invert Y: the publisher promised a future option without a date. A player confirmed a Steam Input axis-inversion workaround for a controller; this does not establish a mouse setting in the game.
Apotheosis stops in v1.5
One player reported a freeze after the “Blakely’s cottage” line. Skipping the scene left collision broken; reloading from the main menu restored the sequence. For that symptom, return to the main menu and reload, then check that the scene and collision work. Save progress since the last checkpoint may be affected. If it persists, there is no verified universal fix here. General crashes and the old demo’s black/white screens remain separate unresolved cases.
